Frequently Asked Questions

Question  -   What do i need to be aware of when booking a DJ?

Answer  -   The main thing is not to book a DJ from anyone based solely on price. Most events and functions are one off events, they cannot be repeated if the entertainment is poor or doesn't turn up. A professional DJ service will be set up before the booking starts, provide written, binding confirmation, be happy to play your music requests and most importantly will have up to date, high quality, PAT tested DJ sound and lighting equipment plus back up gear if its ever needed. The old cliche "you get what you pay for" has never been truer. An interesting statistic from "Bride & Groom" magazine regarding making plans for a wedding are that the entertainment is one of the lowest priorities when booking a wedding DJ, however when asked a week after the event 78% of brides wished they had made it the number one priority, as it is one of the things most people remember about a wedding.

Question  -   How much do you charge?

Answer  -   Cheshire DJs wedding DJ and party DJ packages start at £499 currently. Our charges are based on the duration of your event with a minimum 4 hour booking plus an additional half hourly charge if a longer period is required. Please fill in our online booking quote form with as much detail as possible and we will answer your enquiry as soon as possible with a full costing for your event. Please consider when booking a cheshire DJ that most events require the DJ to do upto 4 hours of uncharged work answering emails, collating requests lists, travelling to and from a venue and the setting up and packing down time.

Question  -   What kind of music do you play?

Answer  -   Our DJs knowledge and music collections span the decades, from the 50s, through the 60s, 70s and 80s right upto the latest chart hits. Whether youre looking for an experienced wedding DJ, party DJ for a family function, a seasoned professional for a corporate bash, or DJ to create the right vibe at your birthday, we have the DJ to suit your requirements.

Question  -   Do you do requests?

Answer  -   Yes our DJs are very happy to take requests on the night from you and your guests. We also ask YOU for upto 50 DJ requests prior to your event so that we have a great idea of the music that you like. This list is given to your DJ in advance of the function, to help him/her prepare for your party. We actively encourage our clients input regarding the music for your event, so if you only have an idea of what you want, or want to supply a full party playlist, you can do either. Its your party.

Question  -   Do you confirm in writing?

Answer  -   Yes, we issue a contract showing all the details of your function, to be signed by both parties. Your booking is only confirmed once this information and a £199 deposit is recieved. The majority of your DJ costs will required via internet banking the month before your event.

Question  -   How do I know you wont let me down?

Answer  -   Your DJ will sign a similar contact with us, specific to your function and will have full details of your event and its address. All our DJs carry back up equipment essentials in case of emergencies.

Question  -   How long do you need to set up and how much space do you require?

Answer  -  Our DJs usually allow an hour (max) for setting up, and can usually fit into an area 4 metres x 2 metres. Larger functions may require more time & space. You are not charged for this setting up period.

Question  -  What kind of lighting do you use?

Answer  -  All of our DJs use the latest LED lighting effects and carry the right amount to suit the venue size. These do not usually include strobe lighting or smoke / haze machines. If either of these are required please check that your venue allows them.

Question  -  What will the DJ wear?

Answer  -  Our DJs generally dress smart casual, shirt & tie or black tie upon request. Please request this on booking. Absolutely no jeans and T Shirts.

Question  -  Have you got Insurance?

Answer  -  Yes, we hold 10m Public Liability Insurance cover, a copy of our current certificate is available on request and can be forwarded to your venue if required.

Question  -  What about Health & Safety, is your equipment PAT tested?

Answer  -  Yes, all our DJs equipment is Portable Appliance (PAT) tested annually in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive, Electricity at Work Act 1989. A copy of your DJs current test certificate is available on request and can be forwarded to your venue if required.

Question  -  Can I speak to the DJ before the function?

Answer  -  Yes, once we have received your requests (no less than 2 weeks before the booking). We will contact you a few days before the event to discuss any last minute requirements.

Question  -  How can I pay?

Answer  -  Clients will be required to pay a non-returnable retainer fee (deposit) by BACS, with the balance due the month before your event.
